Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of ClearCost's exterior painting estimate and contractor-introduction services.
1. Acceptance and Eligibility
By accessing or using ClearCost, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to agree to these Terms.
2. ClearCost Services
ClearCost provides preliminary exterior painting estimates using information you provide, available property data, selected scope, and pricing assumptions. ClearCost may also help connect homeowners with independent painting professionals. Features and service areas may change over time.
3. Estimates Are Not Final Quotes
Prices shown through ClearCost are estimates for planning purposes, not binding offers or guaranteed final prices. Final scope and pricing are confirmed onsite. Pricing may change because of inaccurate or incomplete property data, difficult access, extra preparation, major surface repairs, wood repair or replacement, customer-requested scope changes, or other conditions not visible in available data.
4. Your Responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate contact, property, and project information; review the final onsite scope before authorizing work; and use the service lawfully. You are responsible for decisions you make based on an estimate and for any agreement you enter into with a painting professional.
5. Permission to Contact You
When you submit your information, you authorize ClearCost and a painting professional involved in responding to your request to contact you about that project by phone, text message, or email. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive marketing communications is not a condition of purchasing services, and you may ask us to stop non-essential communications.
6. Independent Painting Professionals
Painting professionals introduced through ClearCost operate independently and are not employees or agents of ClearCost. Any final proposal, contract, payment, schedule, warranty, or work is between you and the professional. You should review the professional's current credentials, insurance, references, scope, and agreement before hiring. ClearCost does not guarantee availability, workmanship, outcomes, or dispute resolution.
7. Intellectual Property and Acceptable Use
ClearCost's branding, site content, software, and estimate methodology are protected by applicable law. You may use the site for legitimate project planning, but may not misuse, disrupt, scrape at scale, reverse engineer, or attempt unauthorized access to the service.
8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
ClearCost is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent allowed by law, ClearCost disclaims implied warranties and is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for contractor conduct, property-data errors, service interruptions, or decisions based on estimates. Rights that cannot legally be limited remain unaffected.
9. Suspension and Changes
We may restrict access when needed to protect the service, investigate misuse, comply with law, or maintain security. We may update these Terms, and the revised date will appear at the top. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
10. Governing Law and Contact
